Outcomes to Objectives

Now that we know what our outcomes are, it is time to go deeper and derive our learning objectives from these outcomes. Let us watch this video which provides a simple explanation of learning objectives and how they can be derived from learning outcomes.

We learnt that when learners do not know what they are supposed to learn, it leads to confusion and frustration. This happens because the learning objective was absent or unclear.

Learning Objectives (LOs) are brief, clear statements about what students will be able to do. They indicate to the teacher and students, both about what the lesson (or a set of lessons) aims to achieve for students, or what students will learn by the end of the lesson(s).
