Methods for Evaluation

Let’s go through the three methods using which you can evaluate your artefact

1.Self-Review

The first method through which you can evaluate the artefact is by analyzing yourself the effectiveness of the artefact by asking yourself questions like –

Is my content factually correct?

Am I following the correct pedagogical sequence in the content?

Have I used the tips to make the textual, graphic,
and video content effective? (Refer to all the checklists
given to you in the Develop lesson)

Is the literature relevant and well researched?

Does my content meet the learning
objectives and goals?

Am I linking the new topics with the previous one for better understanding?

Thus, you can revise, redesign and redevelop your content after you do a self-review using these questions.
You can do a self-review iteratively during the Design and Develop stages itself as part of your formative evaluations

2. Peer review

In the second method, you can share the final artefact with your peers who could be your colleagues, seniors, mentors or experts in the subject matter to find out the effectiveness of the artefact.

After sharing your artefact with your peers, share the learning goals, outcomes and objectives with them.(Here the document you created in the Analyze stage will come handy and can be shared with your peers)

Ask them to rate the artefact based on different criteria. You can also use the same questions that you asked yourself while doing self-review and can also add new criteria if you wish. This will give you quantitative feedback. You can also collect qualitative feedback by getting their subjective comments for the same questions. Since this is done at the end of the Develop stage, it is considered as summative evaluation.
