Theories for Inclusive Education

Now that you know what inclusive classrooms can look like, let’s look at two theories that help in practicing inclusivity in classrooms. These theories are: (1) Multiple Intelligence Theory and (2) Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Let’s dive deeper into each!

Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory

How does the Multiple Intelligences Theory matter in making classrooms inclusive?

A good exercise to do with your students!

(1) Have them take the Government of Alberta Multiple Intelligence test.
(2) Plot their scores to know what intelligences your students have.
(3) You can also tailor your teaching accordingly!
