1.2 Elements of Interactivity

Ms. Roy always has a group activity in her online classes where students are put in break-out rooms to do a specific task. She then debriefs the activity in the main session and closes the session by asking students to work with their groups, complete the task and share their work on email. What type of interactivity dominates in her class?

Mr. Dev tries to make his classes engaging by sharing lots of interesting facts, asking lots of questions to different students, conducting activities using tools like Mentimeter and Google Forms and ensuring that he is always available to them for any questions. But he notices that students are not as engaged as he would want them to be and get bored easily. What type of interactivity seems to be missing in this class which could actually help make the class more effective?
