The ‘skill’ that we have been discussing in the previous section is nothing but Bloom’s level of the learning objective. You have learnt about Bloom’s Taxonomy in the context of learning objectives and lesson planning in Lesson 3. To quickly refresh about the same, click here.

For example, let’s consider the two questions below:
Learning Objective 1: List down the names of all the past and present Prime Ministers of India
Q1: ____________ was the first Indian Prime Minister. (fill in the blank)
Learning Objective 2: Explain the role played by the first Prime Minister of India in the freedom struggle movement
Q2: Explain why the first Prime Minister of India was so popular?
Both these questions are aligned with the learning objectives at different Bloom’s levels. Q1 tests knowledge and Q2 tests understanding under Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Here are two more resources from us on Assessments aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy. Please go through them and use them to understand what assessments look like at different levels of Bloom’s (infographic 1) and how to align assessments to Bloom’s level of the learning objective (infographic 2) –
You can also refer to this external resource (below) created by The Center for Teaching and Learning, UNC Charlotte which has different types of questions based on different Bloom’s levels
